Transition To Work Program

Innovative pathways from school to employment, including nationally recognised qualifications

Minimbah’s programs have grown rapidly in recent years and we now offer the Transition to Work program to clients. This program will provides innovative pathways from school to employment, including enrolment in an accredited and nationally recognised training program.

Transition to Work is a two year program providing a supported pathway from school to employment for young people with disabilities.

We work closely with you and your support network to build an individual program tailored to help you make informed choices and achieve the best possible outcomes, with regular reviews to stay on track.

You will be supported to exercise choice and to achieve:

  • employment or on-going vocational training
  • an accredited qualification
  • enhanced personal and life skills
  • a good work / life balance

The program runs for three days each week– this may increase to up to five days during work placements.

We will ensure that you receive the ongoing support you need through community links.

Minimbah provides a flexible service — we can offer a social support service, for a fee, in the afternoon or on additional days of the week, depending on individual and family needs.

The Transition to Work program includes a mix of developmental activities:

  • Detailed assessment of current skills and work interests, leading to the development of an individual pathway from school to employment
  • Enrolment in the Certificate I in Life Skills for Work, a nationally recognised and accredited training program taught at Minimbah.
  • Engagement in community and social activities for “real world” application of skills learnt in the classroom.
  • Supported work experience and work placement in a variety of employment areas of interest and suitability.
  • Opportunity to develop and practice individual travel skills to ensure you get to work on time
  • And so much more….
